The Center presents the John van Zandt Scholarship Fund (JvZ)
The John van Zandt Scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating senior seeking financial assistance for tuition for a career requiring certification, licensing or apprenticeship. Awards up to $5,000 are determined through an application process that is reviewed by an independent committee seeking to find the most deserving recipient each year.
The JvZ Scholarship offers tuition support for those graduating seniors entering the exciting and demanding careers in the workforce in a multitude of trades, healthcare, construction, manufacturing and industry and the hospitality and service areas. Learn trades in a variety of fields. Whether you’re interested in being a chef, a beautician, or mechanic, working as a medical coder or helping others as an Emergency Medical Technician, or a nursing aide, there are many career opportunities available. Important JVZ information for applicants
• Applicants and /or their parents must live or work on the island.
• Awards up to $5,000 will go to one or more individuals chosen through the application process and reviewed by an independent committee.
• Students with full tuition funding from another Scholarship will not be eligible.
