The Center presents the John van Zandt Scholarship Fund (JvZ)
The John van Zandt Scholarship Fund is awarded each year to a graduating senior seeking financial tuition assistance to pursue a career that does not require a college degree. Applicants should live or work on the Island or have parents that work on the Island. Awards range from $2,500 – $5,000 and are determined through an application process that is reviewed by an independent committee charged with finding the most deserving recipient each year. Important JVZ information for applicants and donors to the Fund.
- The maximum JvZ Scholarship Fund Award is $5,000 and will go to one individual chosen by the Award Committee or be split between 2 finalists through the application process.
- If a student has full tuition funding from another scholarship source, he or she is not eligible as a potential recipient of JvZ Scholarship Fund Award.
- Donors to the Scholarship Fund are encouraged to make checks out to: The Center of Anna Maria Island. Enter JVZ on memo line. These donations to JvZ are tax deductible for donors.
- The JVZ Scholarship Fund Account resides at the Manatee Community Foundation
