Legacy

The Lester Family Legacy

Honoring Generations of Support

The Lester family has played an instrumental role in the development and sustainability of The Center of Anna Maria Island. Their enduring commitment to our mission and vision has left a lasting impression on our community, touching the lives of countless individuals over the years.

The Beginnings

Charles and JoAnn Lester were among the founding benefactors of The Center, providing crucial support during its early years of establishment. Their dedication to community service and fostering a sense of belonging laid the foundation for what The Center has become today.

Endowment Trust

In 1994, the Anna Maria Island Community Center Endowment Trust was established by Charles and JoAnn Lester to ensure The Center’s ability to meet the evolving needs of our community. This visionary act has had a profound impact on the stability and growth of our programs and services.

Annual Lester Family Fun Day

Lester Family Fun Day, initiated in 2001 and generously sponsored by Chuck and Joey Lester, celebrates old-fashioned fun and community spirit. This cherished event brings together families and friends in joyous festivities, fostering a holiday atmosphere.

Long-Term Impact

The Lester family’s contributions have enabled us to expand our reach, enhance our facilities, and create lasting opportunities for individuals of all ages. Their legacy continues to inspire generosity and philanthropy within our community.

Gratitude and Recognition

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Lester Family for their unwavering support and generosity throughout the years. Their legacy of compassion and dedication serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for generations to come. In 2019, a beautiful tree was dedicated to Chuck and Joey Lester here at The Center, symbolizing their enduring impact on our community members’ lives. Affectionately known as ‘The Lester Giving Tree,’ it stands as a testament to their Lifetime of dedication and support.
