The safety, health, and wellness of our members and employees is our top priority. As we are in the height of flu season and with growing national concerns about the Coronavirus, we want to make you aware of the recommended proactive and preventative cleaning protocols, as well as policies pertaining to protecting yourself and others against exposure to the virus within The Center.
The 27th Annual Tour of Homes will be postponed until next year. Tickets that were purchased for this year’s tour will be good for next year. The quilt raffle will also be postponed and tickets already purchased will be included in next year’s drawing.
A full cleaning of The Center is completed daily as well as hourly wipe downs of the Fitness area by our Island Fitness instructor. Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes are always provided at The Center and we are asking all members and guests to continue to wipe down the equipment as they use it. In addition, our trainers and instructors clean equipment that has been used after each session per our regular policy.
As a policy to protect you and the other Center guests from the Coronavirus, if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or respiratory issues, please wait until your symptoms have subsided before coming into The Center. Additionally, we ask that anyone who has travelled to any Coronavirus hotspot (as defined by the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)) avoid coming into the gym for 14 days after returning from your travels.
We’d like to share with you some guidelines the CDC has published to protect yourself and others at this time.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. (In the gym, please use the available disinfectant wipes on the machines and equipment after each use.)
We encourage you to stay informed through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as the situation evolves. The Center will continue to monitor the condition and will modify preventative measures as may be recommended.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for supporting your Community Center.
Sincerely,
Christopher Culhane
