Dear Center Community,
As I reflect on this past year, my heart is full of gratitude, pride, and a deep sense of purpose. My name is Jillian Ptak, and I am honored to serve as the Director of Development here at The Center of Anna Maria Island.
This year challenged our community in ways none of us could have imagined. The hurricanes left many of our members and neighbors devastated and witnessing that heartbreak was incredibly difficult. Yet, amid the loss, I saw something remarkable. The Center stepped forward, opening its doors to offer supplies, support, comfort, and a safe place for those who needed it most. I watched staff and volunteers show up day after day, providing not just resources, but compassion, reassurance, and a shoulder to lean on. Being here during that time reminded me why our work here matters so deeply, and I have never been more proud to work for an organization that truly lives its mission when it matters most.
This past year also marked an important moment of reflection and planning for the future. With the adoption of our new strategic plan, we are taking thoughtful steps to ensure The Center remains strong and sustainable for generations to come. It is deeply important to me that this place will be here forever, serving children, families, adults, and seniors long into the future. While I am here, it is my personal mission to help make that happen. A key part of this work will be strengthening our endowment, allowing us to protect The Center’s future and ensure stability for the years ahead.
On a more personal note, one of the greatest joys of my role is simply being here, talking with members, hearing about their lives, celebrating their milestones, and meeting new faces who are discovering The Center for the first time. These conversations remind me every day that The Center is not just a building or a collection of programs, but a true community.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and most of all, your belief in The Center of Anna Maria Island. I am incredibly grateful to be part of this team, this mission, and this community. Together, we are ensuring that The Center continues to be a place where everyone feels supported, connected, and at home.
