What is The Center of Anna Maria Island?
The Center is a non-profit community center on Anna Maria Island. The Center strives for excellence in meeting the human service needs of all those living on or nearby our barrier island. We are focused on the community and open to all. In doing so, the Center is often seen as an “Educational Center,” a “Recreational Center,” a “Youth/Teen Center,” a “Fitness Center,” and a “Senior Citizen Center,” and also serves as a The Center Post Disaster Shelter. The Center is all of these and much more.
Who do we serve?
We serve children, teens, families, adults, and senior citizens. Here our senior citizens gather for cultural, educational, health and social programs. Children and teens participate in character building before and after school and are involved in athletic endeavors, art, drama, music, camps designed to develop their best potential.
Families and individuals participate in classes ranging from yoga to meditation to karate. Islanders look to the Community Center for all this, as well as family support and counseling, individual achievement and the true meaning of a caring community.
The Center offers numerous cultural, recreational, and educational programs for all ages, including socials, lectures and workshops. The Center has a fitness center, tennis courts, pickleball courts and sports fields. We have many exciting events planned in the coming months that you’ll want to participate in.
There is plenty to do for the entire family! We have before and after school care for children as well as summer camps for ages 5-14. We offer teens a fun place to hang out filled with the things that they like to do and learn. You may enjoy a wide variety of adult classes such as Meditation, Pilates, Yoga, Cycling, Tai Chi, Lunch and Learns, and much more. Perhaps you want to get in shape with our varied recreational sports programs for both adults and children.
