Summer Camp K-5th Graders

Join us for the ultimate Summer Camp Spectacular at The Center’s Summer My Way Camp! We will be hosting eight weeks of summer fun where you get to be the boss! Sign up for the weekly sports camp, explore the arts with discovery camp, or set your sails towards a specialty camp! This camp is designed for  children going into kindergarten all the way up to 5th graders! (Ages 5-12).

SPACE IS LIMITED… DON’T WAIT TO SIGN UP! 

Camp runs 8am-6pm

Monday-Friday

(The Center will be closed Monday, July 4th)

Cost for Monday-Friday: $180 for Center Members and $195 for non-members

(Cost for July 4th week is $145 for Center Members and $155 for non-members)

You must register by the Thursday prior to care.

Week 1: June 6-10

Sports: T is for Teamwork

Discovery: Green Week

Field Trip: Bowlero

Terrific Teamwork is an emphasis on teamwork and team sports. This week in sports we will practice teambuilding skills and have fun playing team sports.

In Discovery, we will learn about taking care of the environment on a local level through composting and recycling.  Rethink, reuse and reinvent challenge; create something from recycled materials.

 

 Specialty Camps:

  • Sailing  (Ages: 10-14)
  • Tennis Fundamentals (Ages: 6-13)

 

Week 2: June 13-17

Sport: World Cup Soccer

Discovery: Rain Forest

Field Trip: SkyZone

              World Cup week is all about celebrating the love of soccer.  The focus will be doing skills and drills, conditioning, and soccer games. There will be  a mini tournament where each camper can represent a country of their choice along with soccer contests on Thursday.

From food, music, traditions, and ceremonies to survival skills, celebrate the amazing ecosystem and the indigenous people of the Amazon in Discovery Camp. Make artwork inspired by rainforest plants and animals; make a rain stick.

 

 Specialty Camps:

  • Prosper for Kids with Coach Ray from Prosper Bradenton   (Grades: 3rd-6th)
  • Beginner Chess  (Grades: 2nd-5th)

 

 

Week 3: June 20-24

Sport: Speed and Agility

Discovery: Sail into the Sea

Field Trip: Mote Marine

              Sports Camp this week is all about speed.  Race others, race the clock, and race on relay teams.  Test your brain and footwork with agility drills and games.

In Discovery, campers are in for a treat by having Mote Marine scientists visit and teach mini sessions Monday – Thursday.  Campers will dive into learning about marine life and preservation practices.  Campers will also get to test a water sample.

  • Sailing  (Ages: 10-14)
  • Art with Teacher Angie (Grades: 3rd-5th)
Week 4: June 27-July 1

Sport: Dodgeball

Discovery: Outer Space

Field Trip:The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature

Dodgeball, dodgeball, and more dodgeball time!  Campers will play different variations of this classic, all-time favorite game that never grows old.

Discovery campers will have out of this world fun learning about outer space!  They will have an opportunity to create their own unique constellations, play glow n’ the dark tag, and navigate through an alien invasion choose your own adventure book together.

 

Specialty Camps:

  • Sailing  (Ages: 10-14)
  • Fishing Camp (Grades: K-6th)
Week 5: July 5-8

Closed Monday, July 4th

Sport: Football Fanatics

Discovery: Freedom

Field Trip: Defy

In Sports camp, football fans will have fun playing flag football around the clock.  They will practice fundamentals and sharpen skills.  All experience levels are welcome!

Discovery campers will celebrate freedom, explore the role of United Nations, and create patriotic banners. Campers will have an opportunity to write to men and women serving in the military.

Week 6: July 11-15

Sport: Ninja Warriors

Discovery: Winter in July

Field Trip: Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex

              Sports campers will be challenged with ninja obstacles.  They will have an opportunity to test their bravery, endurance and speed as ninjas.

Discovery campers will chill in a make believe winter paradise.  They will get to make popsicles to enjoy, conduct science experiments with ice cubes, make marshmallow igloos, and learn about animals of the Arctic regions.

 

 Specialty Camps:

  • Drama Camp  2 week camp (Ages: 6-13)
  • Youth Yoga (Grades: K-2nd & 3rd-5th)
  • Youth Flag Football Camp (Grades: K-5th)
Week 7: July 18-22

Sport: Rocking Relays

Discovery: Animal Planet

Thursday Trip: AMI Players and Dips Ice Cream

Field Trip: Big Cat Habitat

              A fun-filled week of races, relays and obstacle courses in Sports Camp this week.

Learn about the tiniest of insects to the mightiest jungle predators.  Campers will make animal masks, observe a real life ant farm, and create a colorful lion craft.

 

 Specialty Camps:

  • Art with Teacher Angie (Grades: K– 2nd)
Week 8: July 25-29

Sport: Beach Blast

Discovery: Beach Party 

Field Trip: GT Bray Pool

              Sports Camp will emphasize sports or activities played at the beach, such as soccer, volleyball, frisbee, corn hole and kite flying.  Campers will also participate in beach ball relays.

Discovery campers will make sand art, play Frisbee, get low with limbo, and have a karaoke contest.

 

Specialty Camps:

  • mBot Robot Camp (Grades: 3rd-5th)
  • Volleyball Camp   (Grades: 5th-9th)
